How can we improve DiffNow?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  3. Add support for .odt LibreOffice (formerly OpenOffice) documents

    LibreOffice is the largest OpenSource Microsoft Word document writer. Many tech companies use the .odt format instead of .docx. Although LibreOffice can create and read .doc/.docx format documents, it would be helpful if DiffNow could read straight from the .odt format.

  5. Hex view option

    To display the results side by side but in hex equivalents. Useful for programming. Hope it helps.

    Thank you for your review!

    Just one minor nitpick: You mention “you can’t compare a PDF file with a Word doc” in the review, but in fact DiffNow lets you compare between different file formats. For example, you can try:

    Also, we are planning to raise the 1GB filesize limit soon, though we’re not sure yet what we’ll be raising it to.

    Can you guys add JSON support? Formatting & Compare would be nice!

  12. Add labels to fragment

    Make it possible to add a label so you can distinguish the two fragments. Mostly i am comparing texts which contain only a few minor changes. Sometimes i forget which one is my old or new version.

    I was looking for a comparison tool, as my Word for Mac 2011 failed in all experiences I've done with two-text comparisons. This helped me a lot. Thank you.
